Summit International Institute (SII) was established in 2015 by the chairman Samuel Irungu Njau. In 2017 we attained authorization from the ministry of education in Burundi and in 2021 we attained our Charter. In 2022 we became a member of Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA). On 29th May 2023 got accreditation to offer CPA by KASNEB {Kenya} We also have MOU with Mount Kenya University and Osaka Women University in Osaka Japan. Summit means the highest part of a mountain and we are committed to offering quality and affordable world class education in engineering and technology in a creative and innovative way. Our motto is where theory and practical meet. Unlike many universities where there is much theory, Summit we insist on practical approach. 70% of the grade is practical and only 30% is theory. This makes our students to be way ahead of other students from other universities. We conduct university and industry collaboration where our students solve challenges of society. Since there is serious challenge in the job market we equip all our students in entrepreneurship so that they create jobs for themselves and others. The University Main campus is Bujumbura in Burundi, an international office in Kobe City in Japan where we conduct peace conference every 11th November and a branch in Bukavu in Congo.
